Sorry this is a bit late but life here, work wise, is stoopid manic at the mo but have now chance to sit back & catch up
It was fabulous that Lee was doing a concert just 26 miles from me

even tho the journey was 45 mins long because of the country roads

In fact I drove over on Saturday to have dinner with Anne, Tricia and her husband
Having arrived in Buxton with 2 friends in tow we met up with Kazzer, Debbie & Woozie and had a nice pre-concert drink & bite to eat at the pub across the road from the Opera House.
As I'd booked these tickets months ago I had row B & it was a great position! The audience where VERY loud & appreciative

and Lee was extremelee bouncy & relaxed with his between song chats.
He asked if there was anyone in the audience as the lights where so bright he couldn't see any of the audience

however I'm sure he could see at least the first 2 rows as there was a lot of eye contact from him
I was a little concerned that he appeared to be struggling with some of the higher notes in a couple of numbers and wondered if he's been suffering from the bug that I think has been doing the rounds at Wicked. However, he certainlee didn't struggle with the power notes in CED - where again you could have heard a pin drop in the pauses - or Anthem
He was VERY cheeky with Kiss

twirling and throwing his jacket into a heap at the base of the drums and giving us extra bum wiggles even after he's finished the song
In the second half I didn't detect any problems so he was probably more warmed up by now and he floored me with the high note in JCS. At the end of this number he joked that he'd really channeled Judas and was in the 'zone'
Actually that's one of the things that stands out for me in Lee's performances, that when he's singing a musical number he appears to drop his head and focus on the character of the number and stays 'in character' until the end of the show. This is one of the things that makes Lee stand out, he doesn't just sing the song he performs it
All too soon, we're all standing and swaying our arms and clapping along to Daydream Believer with Lee coming right to the front of the stage standing on the cover of the orchestra pit

and its over!! But boy, have both us & Lee obvioulee enjoyed ourselves
Apparently the stage door of the Opera house is in a tight space so word went round that Lee would be appearing at the front of the theatre, cue a very familiar, and long missed 'Scrum'!
Lee was his most fabulous & gracious self and despite constant 'nagging' by the guy behind him to finish he stayed out for photos and autographs for ages only stopping when there was only 3 rows of us left. We had stayed at the back to make sure new fans could get to Lee and we were so close but so far away
I had forgotten my camera

so took some pics on my phone bit they're a bit rubbish. However, I'll post them to give you a flavour of the crowd
I've 'blurred' out anyone I don't know
