I'll try to not make the list too long lol! :D

Well my no.1 fave musical of all time has definately got to be Phantom of the Opera, i just love everything about it, the songs, the atmosphere, the characters...i really want to play Christine one day hopefully! :D Oh and just the thought of Lee playing the Phantom  Pwhoar.... I wish id seen him as Raoul...

Another fave of mine is The Lord of the Rings Musical lol! For a start, the guy playing Frodo is just gorgeous, but the prodcution is also just spectacular, theyve adapted the book well and the journey they take you through in three hours is wonderful. Though not all the music is catchy, there are a few songs that i just love. Although the acting from some of the understudies is dodgy. A guaranteed knockout is to go see it with all the cast there.

Then of course theres Joseph, Evita, Moulin Rouge, Avenue Q, Beauty and the Beast, Miss Saigon, The Lion King, Guys and Dolls, Sunset Boulevard....

I'll stop now

Les Mis is definitely my favourite musical, alongside Joseph. I find it hard to compare them since there so different... :)
I love Wicked too, and Lion King and (although I haven't seen them [yet]) Phantom, Beauty and the Beast, Sunset Boulevard, Miss Saigon... And so much more! :D

I am completely in love with musicals but unfortunately I live in a stupid place which makes it too hard for me to get to see all the ones i want to...
My favourites are:

JOSEPH: I loved it for ages as y sister had the soundtrack and played it all the time (she loved jason donavon) but i never actually saw it and I watch ADWD and thought Lee was definitely the joseph for me....got very excited and when i saw it on thurs 18th October...HE WAS AMAING!!! I love all the comedy moments and songs and the rest of the cast were brilliant to...Preeya has such an amazing voice too...it's soo big and she soo tiny..(plus she had the prettiest dress after the interval!!) there is so much energy in it and ...i may love Lee which certainly helps it!!

RENT: I've never actually seen it but me and my friend spent our "revision" for GCSE's actually googling it a couple of years ago and we love it...I'm not looking forward to the new version though as they hve changed the song styles and made it more poppy than rocky! but I loved the songs and thought the storylines in it were so good,,...love, death drugs and aids....it really had everything and the origina cast are all amazing (adam pascal, Idina Menzel, Anthony Rapp etc)

WICKED: the only reason me and friend knew about it is because Idina Menzel from Rent was in it and we saw her on children in need....We went back on to google and downloaded the songs and..again..fel in love with it....We went to see it in June and we werent disappointed at all...even though we saw kerry ellis not idina but we got over that really quickly as she has an amazing voice..her defying gravity was oh so awesome!!

WE WILL ROCK YOU: again I've never seen it but because we saw Kerry Ellis in Wicked we googled her (do you sense the pattern) and found she was in WWRY! I love the idea of it...Love Queen songs and have watched alll the videos on you tube i can find...It seems like a really fun show to go to and ii really need to be able to drive soon so i can go see it!!!!!!

42nd Street: I'm not sure iif i can class it as one of my favourite musicals as i cant remember much of it as i was only 10 and saw it on holiday in Jersey but i do remember loving it loads and reading my programme for it a lot....I think the fact that ruth madoc was in it too helped me like it because i used to watch High de high on TV and she was in that....

LES MIS: sooo want to see it but no-one will go with me because they say it's depressing...I love the songs "On my on" and "Little Fall of Rain" and they make me cry every time!!! I watched the concert version in a music lesson at school once and fell in love with it!!

Avenue Q: again...not seen it but really reallly really really want too!!!! It looks really funny and the songs are great!!!! It' like sesame street for older people!!!

I think I have to stop now cos i could probably name moe ..OOooh oooh phantom is made of awesome...but i've only seen the film:-( and I love the song "Suna and Moon" form Miss saigon but I dont know much more about it but i still wold love to see it...and Hairspray is just :-D

But i think that Joseph may actually be my favourite ever!! Just because of Lee....*goes to dream* (sorry for rambling)

Les Mis is my utmost fave - I love the passion and every time I have seen it the cast have been brilliant!
Also love Buddy - many years ago, my schoolfriends and I used to get the train from school to London to see Buddy - must have seen it about 10 times together!

The only show I haven't been keen on was Dirty Dancing. Its my all time fave film but I found some of the dancers in the show to be quite wooden (probably because many of the dancers are trained in ballet etc rather than mambo, meringue, salsa etc)

I'm looking forward to seeing Wicked in a couple of weeks. I've booked tickets to see it while I'm in LA on holiday. I've also seen Phantom, Grease (twice), Fame, Dr Doolittle, Chitty, Footloose and of course, Joseph (Jason, Phillip and now, the best, Lee)

I'd never seen a West End Show until the Sound of Music programme came on tv last year. Then I booked to see that one and since have seen Joseph and also Lord of the Rings. Sound of Music and Joseph are what I call 'real feel good' shows with the added bonus of Lee in Joseph of course! Though (at risk of being called a traitor!) of the three I've seen, Lord of the Rings was my favourite, probably because the staging and effects were so spectacular. have just been to see it for a second time.

I've been bitten by the musical bug though and have got three more shows booked for this year which are Lion King, Wicked and Blood Brothers. Can't wait! It's so hard to choose, isn't it? Would love to see Phantom as well, but that will still be there another year!

ChrisB, Phantom is awesome!! It has it's own thread here

I would love to know what you think of Lion King as it's one of the shows that my Hubby is thinking of going to watch when I see Joseph in October. Bless him, he's watched it 7 times with me now wants to see something different. He's also umming & arring over Cabaret

Lion King is brilliant Ange - took OH to see it about a year and a half ago - and I know abs and Tricia saw it not too long ago. I would suggest that a dress circle ticket might be better than the stalls - there is a lot going on on stage that I know, because my boss and her grand-daughter sat in the stalls - you miss from down there - the overview from higher up is better from an adult point of view - sure he'll enjoy it - the stampede is something else- and tell him to watch out for the elephant !!!!

LK was my first musical! It was fab!

Leonie, are you going to see the Dutch Les Mis? Apparently it's very good! With the exception of a few songs I actually think it's a good translation too!

How did I miss this thread.
Apart from Joseph which is my all time favourite musical even before Lee
I loved Barnum with Michael Crawford.
Rocky Horror show
Finally Phantom.
My all time favourite musical film was the King and I, I saw it when I was nine with Yul Bryner.

I'm sorry to be boring but my all time favourite musical is Joseph. It has been since I went with the school back in 1982 when I was 9 years old. I was so moved by the music I cried and came home and worked out all the tunes on my recorder. This was the only reason I watched ADWD as I didn't watch the Sound of Music one (or the Oliver one come to that). I'd always been worried about going to see Joseph again because the childhood memory was so strong and vivid I didn't want to spoil it. As soon as I saw Lee audition I knew he would win and I also knew he would deliver a performance to rival that first time. I wrote to him at the BBC the first fews weeks telling him how much I was willing for him to win and why.

Needless to say the first Jo show I saw back in November blew me away. It was even better than my childhood memory. I guess that's why I'm here on the forum. My main attraction to Lee is his talent; the fact that he is absolutely, jaw-droppingly gorgeous is just an added bonus

Yeah, that was fab! I think our Enjolras is very good too! It's very tempting to try this one out, but I already saw the English version twice over the past year. On the other hand, I used to listen to the Dutch cast recording a lot and have fond memories of that one. Singing "Castle on a Cloud/Luchtkasteel" on the top of my voice with a couple of friends while we were actually sweeping the floors in a castle!
And according to my first post in this thread it is my favourite musical... but I do think my favourites changed a bit
Anyway, would love to hear what you think of it once you've seen it!
