I saw Flashdance in Southampton yesterday afternoon. Most enjoyable.

The leading lady was ill and the understudy was very good, though I thought her dancing was a little restrained.

Noel Sullivan (ex-Hearsay) and Bruno Langley (ex-Corrie) both sang well, as of course did Bernie Nolan. There are some really good ensemble pieces and I thought the three supporting girls were excellent.

There are two Lee links. She wasn't on for the performance I saw, but one of the ADWD dancers is swing - possible the 'Bad Day' girl. Kerry Stammers is ensemble. I had heard that she is tiny and expected her to have a slim balletic body. However, she has a lovely curvaceous figure, does an superb pole dance, and makes the splits look totally effortless.

(At the pub beside the theatre, two of the male dancers ate a huge meal about an hour before the performance. I don't know how they leapt about as they did.)

Thanks for the report, Showgirl!

So, Kerry and one of the Josephines are in this, huh? Small world!
