I'm sure you'll enjoy it, Antoinette ... I haven't seen the stageshow, but I'd probably consider it now having seen the movie. And Meryl Streep did look really youthful, and had tons of energy - made me feel very unfit, and I'm more than half her age! :?

Cheesy is good *nods* so we're going to see it for sure. I'm just afraid I might be disappointed because I loved the stageshow so much.
I saw 'the making of' on TV and was amazed by how young Meryl Streep looks.

I've seen the stage show and the film..
I love them both but you shouldn't compare them.
And if you don't like it you'll probably love the stage show even more

I saw this on Tuesday and really enjoyed it! Obviously it's cheesy and quite camp at times, but I can appreciate it for what it is - a bit of cheesy fun
The songs are really catchy too.... especially 'Lay All Your Love On Me', it always seems to be stuck in my head now!

Oh and, I think this film worth seeing just for Dominic Cooper's back, really...

I have seen the stage show (in the Netherlands) and the movie. Both are great. But Colin Firth can't sing.

I've been on a girls weekend this weekend and we all decided to go and see Mamma Mia, and I've got to say it's the best feel good film I've seen for a very very long time, cheesy, camp, emotional, hilarious, it covers everything, loved Does Your Mother Know part with Tanya and Pepper

Who cares if some of them can't sing, it made it more enjoyable

I saw this film last night with a group of girl friends. We all really enjoyed it. It's a real feel good, middle age lady, girl power type movie, it was great. I kept imagining Lee as one of the male characters. I would recommend it.

I watched it on Monday with mum and my 6 year old niece (who absolutely loved it - she was singing along with great enthusiasm  ). I saw the stage show a few years ago, so it was interesting to compare. The film is great fun and Julie Walters is hilarious  ! Colin Firth is :thud: - he and Lee should definitely work together - they'd make a great pair of brothers, or possibly father and son (Mr Darcy and his handsome, eligable son :thud: ?).

The lad who played Sky reminded me of Lee! I couldn't help thinking that Lee would have made a great Sky!

I finally got around to watching the film last night. I loved it. Couldn't help singing along to all of it. And I pretty much blubbed my way through the last half of the film! (My excuse - I was tired!)

Bit late, I know, but I just wanted to say how much I love this film! Been to see it twice at the pictures and have it on DVD.

Never seen the stage show, but I'd love to.

OH and I bought the DVD for each other for Christmas and still haven't watched it, despite having 2 copies!! I sort of have the feeling that it won't be that good on a small screen.

I watched it on Boxing Day night and it was good, but far better at the flix! Still very enjoyable and uplifting, though!

Hi Nikki. That's what I thought. I should have seen it at the cinema.

I have a friend who went to see it a dozen or so times.

Ooh, I almost forgot about the sing-a-long version I went to see!

Well, if you haven't seen it at the pictures, Showgirl, at least you'll have nothing to compare it too!
