Ok, I make no apologies for the length of this review
Well, where to start? I suppose the beginning’s a good place
Met up with Anne, Ruth, Kazzer & Snoo at Leeds train station, all 5 of us came in from different directions & it was strange to be meeting Lovelees outside of London!!! We walked to the Theatre through the City centre calling into a few shops on the way

& I bought a Christmas Card for James that said “From All of Us” on the front which we all signed plus I put that it was from the Dotorg Lovelees and put the print out of the Messages that some you of put in James’s Thread for him. Julie had typed them out & here’s a scan of them
We arrived at the Theatre at around 12pm and were just deciding on whether to leave James a message that we would be seeing the show when in he walked!! His face was a picture when he saw us all standing there & it was hugs all round

He had to get off to do his vocal warm up but promised he’d come see us after the show to catch up.
We then had about an hour before going to find our seats so got drinks

& spent the time talking about……………………………
LEE  well we are Lovelees
The show was fab, definitely not a Pantomime & its not billed as such however the audience was 50% children under 5

so made for a slightly noisy performance as they quickly lose interest in what was a Christmas Performance/Musical. I hadn’t even realised that Peter Pan had a music score before this production and it sticks very closely to the book which means its very dark in places and certainly the end is rather sad & poignant

However, the songs are good, the comedy is funny the effects are great and the dancing, especially from a certain Pirate

is fabulous!!!!
The show had to be stopped about 10 mins in as there was a problem with the ‘wires’

but it only took 5 mins to sort out & the audience was very appreciative of the cast & how they coped with it

At the end of the show after the final bows the guy who plays Smee stepped forward & announced that they would be collecting for World Aids day (I think it was that, maybe one of the others could correct me if it was something else) & the Pirates & Peter dashed up the stairs out of the auditorium! We realised they would be collecting with buckets & hoped to catch James in costume, so it was purses out

However he was nowhere to be seen

but we got some pics of Captain Hook, Peter, one of the Lost Boys (Curly??) & a couple of the Pirates (sorry rubbish at the names

) but more of those pesky pirate later
What is this Pirate doing?
We had put our donations into the buckets but then I decided that I wanted a pic with Peter & Captain Hook as they were stood together so told them I’d put more cash in the bucket for a pic

and then Snoo was recruited by Captain Hook into his Crew!!!!
Anne then spotted this shifty looking character!!!!
When he came over & grabbed Snoo

insisting on a pic
You have to watch pirates you know, they are prone to do things like that
The show had started at 1.30pm but what with the show stopping & then ‘messing around’ with pirates

it was now 4.30pm & Kazzer had to rush off for her train
The rest of us found a table in the cafeteria, got coffees & waited for James. Apparently he had rushed off to get changed & showered to meet us!! Awwww
James found us & we had a very pleasant hour chatting with him about the show, what he’s getting up to in Leeds and how Anne had sacrificed 2 Joseph shows to come to Leeds

I gave him some chocs and the Christmas Card from the Forum which included the Messages which he was thrilled with and gave me a hug for everyone
James then signed all of our programmes, this is a scan of mine
And then it was time for a group piccie & Anne took this first one
Mmmm, those glasses of wine are showing in my face
Then James asked one of the cast members who just happened to be passing

to take a pic so we could all be in it. He came to stand by me again but I joked that we had to change places as the colour of our sweaters clashed
Mmmm, wonder what the rest of the cast think of all the ‘fangirls’ that are visiting James
We were then mindful that James still had to eat, as did we

, before getting ready to do the Evening show so it was hugs all round again & we said our goodbyes
Snoo then took us to a Malaisian/Thai/Indonesian restaurant where we had a very lovely meal eaten with chopsticks

and made the mistake of trying the raw red chillies

*makes note to self never to do that again*

& we rounded the evening off with cocktails in a bar before going to catch our trains
Thanks girls for a fabulous day

was great to meet everyone again even if it did seem strange at first meeting outside of London

& a big thanks to Snoo for looking after us all & not losing anyone
