"The feedback on Andrew LLoyd Webber's Phantom Of The Opera Deux which was workshopped in the pool complex of his Sydmonton Estate has been terrific. The score worked well as did the lyrics by Glenn Slater.

Director Jack O'Brien (he did Hairspray) narrated the story. Obviously before the show can ride into the West End, work still has to be done on the book and I gather the idea is to have it running in the autumn or winter of next year.

I imagine that if John Barrowman does get the gig (he's only on a list, he hasn't got it) he'll be wanting a lot of money. The original Phantom, Michael Crawford, still gets a cut of the box office even though he hasn't sung the music of the night for years."
