Enjoy the show, Angelie. How many times is that?

I was really annoyed last week. I was in London to see Joseph - the 7 p.m. Tues performance. I was around Leicester Square at about 1.45 p.m. A couple and an elderly woman stopped me and asked if I wanted a show seat for the matinee , absolutely free, because they didn't want to waste it. I politely declined beacuse I still had my suitcase and had to check in to my hotel, but I asked what show. It was Phantom!

Uh... *thinks* .... 14 I think? :D

A shame you missed the chance last week, but I'd really recommend going at some point - the cast's fantastic at the moment!

So me and Angelie (and Lyndsay, Tara and Anjana!) went to see Phantom last Wednesday. Sorry I've only just decided to write about it - been a busy bunny since then!
We sat in Row E of the stalls, which was just insanely close and was SO SO brilliant! The show was excellent as always (we were all gonna write a review together but we've still not got round to it yet, we will do eventually no doubt!)

Stage doors was brilliant too, and I thought I'd share my photos here!
First photo we had taken was with Alex Rathgeber, who plays Raoul.
Image
Alex is such a sweetheart. He really is so lovely, and I had a nice chat with him.

Next we spoke to Leila Benn Harris, who was the Christine that night.
Image
Leila is also really lovely, and she's by far my favourite Christine that I've ever seen (ok I've only seen three, but she's the best!)

Finally, we saw Ramin Karimloo, the Phantom!!
Image
Ramin was an INCREDIBLE Phantom! I can't get over how amazing his performance is! Plus he's such a nice guy, he stood talking to us for ages and ages! He's so sweet and really funny!

It was a really great night, I had so much fun, and I can't wait to go again!

Oh, and also, randomly before the show, we saw Michael Xavier (the guy who played Raoul before the cast change in September) He was randomly wandering around the Haymarket area, and it was really nice to see him! We had a chat (mostly about the Hair Appreciation Society!) and photos!
Image

All in all, a really great day!

Did Michael remember the hair appreciation society?! What did he say about it? What is he doing now? Great photos.

Hahaha actually a really funny story about Michael!
I apologised for us setting up the MXHAS Myspace page, and he said "Oh actually, I've got a funny story about that!"
He told us that his brother's friend googled him and found it. His brother's friend then called him and said "Michael, do you realised there's an appreciation society for your HAIR??"
Hahaha.
Michael loves it, he thinks it's really funny!

He's currently auditioning for several things, both in the theatre and on TV. Fingers crossed for him!

Ha, ha, that's great! Hope he gets some good work. I didn't realise he had left Phantom with no work to go to.

Actually, I think a lot of people generally DO leave shows with nothing to go onto next.
I don't think it happens a lot that actors will know EXACTLY what show they are going into next. A lot of this is down to cast changes - obviously shows don't have the same cast change dates. Phantom's cast change is generally in September. Obviously other shows have different cast change dates - I think Wicked's is in July.

Though I might be wrong... I'm just going on presumptions actually!!

Lovely photos orange_peas (sorry forgotten your name). I really think I shall have to go back and see Phantom with this cast. Is Ramin on for all performances?

You're right I think.... shows do generally have their cast changes at different times. I know the Les Mis cast change is in June but I'm not sure about any others really....

Apart from holidays and sick days, yeah he is!
I know that the standby Nic Greenshields is on as Phantom from January 31st-February 2nd (I think??) so if you want to see Ramin - don't go then!

And here are my pictures :D :

Rachel, yes Alex does indeed look insanely adorable. He is so lovely!

Angelie, I've got another pic of you and Alex. (His eyes look a bit scary in that too though haha) I would have posted it but my stupid photobucket isnt working tonight again!

I was thinking about John Addison today (He plays the Policeman in the Pit, the role that Lee used to play!)
I think we should try to speak to him, he looks like he'd be fun to befriend.

Yes I think so too... especially after the problems we caused him in the pit :-P

We grinned at him a little TOO much and caused him to be very unprofessional by laughing lots... oops!

It was just so funny though! I mean, I KNEW it was coming, I KNEW he would pop up from the pit at that point, but it still just looked so funny and made me laugh. And then I couldn't stop laughing, and he was looking directly at me and laughing back, and then I turned to you guys to try and compose myself but you were hysterical too! It was just so funny!
Poor guy, I wish he wasn't on his phone when he came out, I would have liked to go say hello.

Whilst we're talking about Phantom boys... I love Alex Rathgeber.... did you know that??! Hhahahaha.

Ok finally got photobucket to work so here's the pic I took of Alex with Angelie, Anjana and Tara.

Image

His eyes (and Anjana's!) look a little scary. Damn flash photography and red eye and stuff at night - can't wait for it to be summer again so we can have light nights and daytime pics!!
