Hi, just wanted to say ive just booked tickets to see a new West End show next March.

Its called Jersey Boys and is based on the life and career of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. For anyone maybe too young to know who Frankie Valli is, this is a link to the official show website...gives you a little background on the band and the show

Jersey Boys

The Broadway show got great reviews but since the London show doesnt open till end of Februaury, there are no reviews about the London cast yet.

I loved the music of Frankie Valli and I can just see me singing and dancing to this one :D

I'm pretty sure the London cast for this show hasn't been announced yet.
It opens in February, right?
I've heard pretty good things about it on Broadway, so I think I would like to go see it at some point, I like Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, reminds me of being a kid when my mum used to listen to them in the car!

It has, it's on the link that Judith posted... and on the news section it says the cast was announced on the 27th, so only very recently. Michael's not in it.

I've heard great things about the Broadway show too, so I might go see this at some point. :)

There are quite a few video's of the US cast performances on Youtube. Just type in Jersey Boys...they appeared on a couple of award shows and also some American chat shows.

They did sing "Oh what a night" ( one of my favs :D ).

Frankie Valli was on BBC breakfast last week as he was over here to announce the London show. Havent seen anything yet with the London cast in but im sure they will do a great job.

Better late than never but finally got round to get here and post my review on this show.

Saw it with my husband about 2 weeks ago, and had a great night. For anyone who is, or was, a fan of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, they will love this musical. As well as having a great storyline, some of it rather suprising, as to the life that Frankie and the others had, it was the musical numbers that made this show. The songs were excellently performed by actors that had been well picked for both their acting talent and musical abitlity.
The cast was quite small so some of them took a couple parts and the scenery was also moved around the stage by the cast as they needed it...but very well done, no need for fancy backgrounds etc. The guy who took the lead role of Frankie was great ( bit biased here as he is from my home town originally ) but his singing voice was uncanny for the real Frankie Valli.

Alot of older people ( 50 plus ) in the audience but i suppose thats the age group of the fans of this 50s / 60s group, but i grew up listening to this music and the whole show was like a step back in time for me.

I cant see it being such a draw to people who simply want to see a West End musical, but the fans certainly enjoyed singing along and the standing ovation at the end was well deserved. great to get up also and be able to have a dance to the final number " Who loves you".

But btw, this show is not recommended for younger children due to the swearing....used in context with the dialogue , but very clear.

Ok - so NOW I get what the fuss is all about!!!! lol

What a fab show!!!!! I've heard other people say this too - but I really was surprised how many of the songs I knew. I was sat there mouthing along to everything! I loved how fast moving it was. I loved how it actually told the story of the Four Seasons and incorporated the songs. I loved the very 'real' heartfelt story, and the funny bits and the sad bits. Love the dancing!!!! Loved Philip, made me laugh. Loved his straight face and deep voice bits! Thought Stephen was very sweet! Was Scott on for Frankie - and he was fab! Would be interesting to see Ryan and compare. Glenn was just great. Tommy is a bigger role than I was expecting, and he was brill at playing the lovable rouge! Gotta also mention the brill job by the girls and the rest of the cast. It was so good it left me wanting to go see again straight away!!! Anybody who hasn't seen this - really should!!!!
