I saw it with Jess today, I've gotta admit I'm a massive Adam Levy fan, I thought he did some amazing acting as Ramon and...well who could resist that chest?! Pwhoooarrrrgle me oh my! He didn't come out after the matinee, but I did get a pic with Paul after our chat, and a pic with a wonderful flamenco dancer Jorge Muelas. Theres a bad pic of the stage too.

I saw Zorro again on Thurs. It is certainly better than the touring version - shorter and tighter. There are some good special effects, the group numbers are fabulous and the dancing is spectacular. Adam Levy is excellent and so are the two leading ladies. I really like Matt Rawle, but feel that he doesn't put enough depth into the character. He plays it all for laughs. I also think that his solo numbers are not memorable, though that isn't his fault.

Sorry, Veronica, I meant to say that the photos are great. Paul looked good up there on stage didn't he? I watched him a lot of the time. He was obviously enjoying himself.

I think Paul is on as Zorro for a week from the 15th September, that's not 100% though!

Yes, he is 1st. understudy isn't he? I wonder how he will play the part. Not as camp as Matt, I wouldn't think.

The booking period has just been extended till Sept. 2009. Good news for all the cast and more time for people to save up to go and see this fun show.

I loved it!

Just read this on the Zorro website:

Quote:
Charity Performance - Wednesday 17 September

Learning from Vulnerable Children: How to Care Better

Kids Company is a charity founded by Camila Batmanghelidjh in 1996 in order to provide practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children and young people.

The majority of the children who access our interventions present with severe emotional, behavioural and social difficulties, resulting from significant experiences of trauma and neglect. Many of them are ‘lone children’ living in chronic deprivation, with limited or no support from the adults in their family.

In 2007, Kids Company supported 12,000 children and young people through a range of services, based on therapeutic principles. We aim to provide an environment where relationships of empathy and attachment can be fostered between children and trusted adults. All children are welcome and we never turn a child away.

We are constantly inspired by the courage and dignity expressed by vulnerable children in the face of overwhelming challenges, and in everything that we do the child is put first.

We believe that every child deserves a childhood.

Interesting timing if Matt's supposed to be off that week! But sounds like a very good cause!!

Gipsy Kings musical Zorro has posted closing notices at the West End’s Garrick Theatre. The premiere production opened in London, following a ten-week regional tour, on 16 July 2008 (previews from 2 July), initially for a limited six-month season, and had extended until 5 September 2009. The company were told tonight that they will now finish on Saturday 14 March 2009.
