So… this is gonna be long!
Let’s fly to Neverland! On the train, which was 15 mins late to be typical

. Saw the Bourneville and Cadbury’s factories on the way up, coincidence or not that I got James some Bourneville choccie? Got to the theatre in 15 mins, trying to take notice of the route and not succeeding cos the roads aren’t like the map

. Got my ticket, row D dead centre *thuds * and went to the café to wait for the elusive Mr Bisp! At 12.10 he appeared walking with another cast member! I was so happy to see him but so nervous, the first few minutes of convo were very fangirly and squee-y! Then it got easier and we nattered like mates. We said our hellos and how you doings? He sat down to eat his sandwich and donut – to which I told him off – he can’t eat his donut when I just gave him choccie

. He said he might start it between shows, btw, Marieke and Luna, he’s still trying to get through the choccie you gave him at xmas We talked about what’s new and he asked how school was and corrected himself straight away

, but then is it a compliment to look like a school girl? Lol. We talked about our favourite subject, drama schools

and he said the feedback I got was probably just them being stupid cos when he auditioned for La Cage, they said he didn’t get the part cos he had a contemporary voice and not musical theatre, which is wrong of course cos he has a MT voice and the guy who got the part was half his size, what that had to do with it I don’t know

. Hot audition news!! He has a Mamma Mia audition in 2 weeks, so all cross fingers for that! And Les Mis is auditioning for West End and a WORLD TOUR!!! soon!
I told him I met Nancy Sullivan at the Les Mis stage door and he said he knew her he was like “ yeah I love Nancy, I need to go see her in Les Mis” and asked what I thought of Jon Robyns as Marius, I said he was great and he said he wants to play Marius, I said well he should get it Talked a bit about Edges and he said cos they are producing it, if not enough people come to see it, they have to like subsidize the rest of the money they didn’t get from audience, I think I’ve got that right. And the booking system is phoning a number and reserving seats and paying when you get there, I think.. As usual it was a very fast convo so don’t completely quote me on these facts, as you guys know, its hard to keep up with James

. He asked if I had a good xmas and I said meh, I was ill for half of it, and he went aww bless ya, he asked if mum was ok and did I have brothers n sisters? ( all the while me thinking, ooh this is different conversation!) I said I was doing Suessical the Musical soon and did he know it and he said he did a bit, he wants to see it, he’s got Alone in the Universe on his Ipod. ( I resisted the urge to say if I got a main part in it, would he wanna come see it? Lol). I moaned about uni and my 10,000 words to write and it turns out he was a last minute essay writer, like the day before, I said I wished I could do that! Amy Lennox who plays Wendy came along and he paused to say : “ hey grumpy!” to her,

and he told me who she was, then he had to scoot in and I asked if I’d be ok leaving my stuff on its own while I got food and he said yeah if I keep an eye on it and in he toodled. I had an obscenely expensive jacket potato with beans and a cuppa for £6.25! Thank goodness I’d budgeted for this possibility, then I went to get my programme but was miffed to find the fun merchandise like cutlasses had sold out No playing pirates for me then!
Found my seat and nearly thudded into the seat in front, well I dropped my ticket into the seat in front and it was a bit perilous leaning over to get it. But oh my, I was dead centre! I think front row may have been a bit too close, James had got it just right getting D 37! Soo, the show, like Snoo, Ange, Luna and Marieke have said, is just amazing! I spotted James straight away ( as you do) and didn’t let my eyes leave him! I was very impressed with his scary pirate voice as I told him after and loved that he got a solo dance spot, he really showed how versatile he is and he so deserves a proper big part next! I’d have liked to have seen a bit more of him, but his dying and resurrection as the rear end of the crocodile was excellently done I loved the songs, oh cast recording is out in March, dress circle.com is best place to get it! But they are fading out of my head now, I can’t seem to get songs I only hear once stuck in my head Wendy had a beautiful voice and rightly got much applause, David Birrell as Hook was fantastic and I loved Smee! But the star of the show – other than James of course - had to be James Gillan as Peter Pan. He was so engaging and great to watch, funny and I loved his little Michael Flatly Riverdance thing going on and I love his voice , I may have to see about getting his album!
