Hey =]
So i went to see Lee at The Sage on Tuesday evening [obviously] and it was AMAZING!!
I have to say.... i haven't experienced anything quite like it.
I'd never been to the Sage before and it's a really nice place. With stunning views looking out over the river [i'll post my photo of that =)]
Anyway.... onto the concert.
I was sat..... front row, seat 14. It was just off centre. Centre seat was like 3 seats along to my left. I dragged my sister along with me, i paid for her of course otherwise she wouldn't have came but i'm pleased to say she enjoyed. Not a Lee fan but still enjoyed it which says something =]
I won't go into the songs... you will know the setlist if you have been already and if you haven't been well i'll keep it as a surprise for you. All that is important is that they were all sang beautifully.
When he first spoke, i thought his voice sounded abit.... hoarse shall we say.... but i think it disappeared as the night went on.
Lee was having a good old night with the technical difficulties. HaHa!
First off at the end of the opening song his mic stopped working [i think he must have hit the off button by accident!]
After the interval when he came back onto stage he came on abit too enthusiastically and grabbed the mic stand so rough that the mic flew out of it landing on the stage. It was soo funny!
His mic stand broke..... he was tighten it up to stop it from getting smaller but it just wasn't working. In the end it just fell down and Lee made a laugh about it by sitting on the floor and saying "I can't sing from down here!"
Also.... we got to see Lee do an in-ear's strip! Basically his in-ears weren't working so he had to take them out and with thanks to the band they put it to music and Lee done the actions as if he was stripping! HaHa! Lots of hip movements there.
He told us about his reaction when he approached The Sage not believing that, that was where he was performing. Saying it is the biggest stage he has performed on so far!
Laura Wright was his guest.... she is a beautiful singer. And their duets were stunning! However..... i think she sang a couple songs too many for my liking anyway. Fair enough coming on when Lee goes off to change clothes. But there was a bit where she just came on to sing 2 songs and Lee came back out not having changed. At the end of the day... i paid to see Lee sing... not her. But thats just me!
Lee's dancing is very entertaining...... i described it to my mam as.... "Dad Dancing" haha! Bless him. But it's Lee.... he can get away with it!
He seems very comfortable now talking to the audience =] which is nice. We all know what a shy guy he can be so i bet it's pretty daunting.
He made me laugh with the way he spoke about himself though. He speaks as if we know nothing about him. I suppose he is just getting used to it and is still probably overwhelmed by it all. It's like Lee..... we paid to see you, were your fans.... we probably know more about you then you do yourself! [But not in a Stalkerish way =P]
During a certain song.... the lady sat next to me asked if i wanted a glow stick to wave, so i greatly accepted and there was a bunch of other people further down who had them too which Lee seemed to like =]
I spoke to 2 ladies... didn't think to ask their names.... i not good with people! But one Lady was sat next too me... think she came with a few other people from a different forum. And another Lady who was sat behind me tapped me on my shoulder and said about how she knew it was me from Twitter, when i Tweeted Lee about looking out for me in my Musical Note jumper haha! So whoever you 2 ladies are....... if your reading this..... please do make yourself known =] Was nice to speak to you.
There is one more thing that REALLY bothered me..... it always will aswell. I couldn't take photo's =( A got 2 really rubbish ones at the very beginning though. People kept getting told off for it. And coz i was front row.... i had nothing to hide behind. I could have sneakily done it without my flash but i really didn't want to risk getting my camera taken off me or getting kicked out so i just put it away. But i will forever be Gutted. I'm one of those people who like to photograph my concert memories.
Oh..... and i struggled to stay seated. Hence why i have never experienced anything like this before. A music concert to me... means standing up to watch it whether you have a seat or not. So i was soooo pleased when we stood up for 2 standing ovations and all the way through the last song!
Anyway.... sorry to bore you.... i can't help my reviews been long i get carried away!
Overall a FABULOUS night! Well Done Lee =]
Here are my photo's that i got:
