Ive just returned from a couple of very nice days in London with my Mum. Part of her treat was a visit to see the Sound of Music. What a brilliant show. The music and songs are performed brilliantly by the whole cast, especially the children, alot of whom were making their West End debut in this show. What confidence they had. Connie was simply perfect in this role, her voice and acting throughout the show were wonderful. I do though feel that the character of the captain was based on Prince Charles, that leading man had the voice and characteristics down to a tee....lol.

We also went to the Tutankahmun exhibition at the O2. Very impressed with the actual exhibition, the artifacts and pictures were wonderful, but the gift shop was a total rip off. The prices were so high and the quality of the gifts was terrible in some cases...so cheap looking. Even a pencil was nearly £3, and with lots of school visits, there was not much for the children to buy with their pocket money. Books for £35, and statues ect for £100's...needless to say, i didnt buy anything.

Did miss going to The Adelphi but roll on June :D

Oooo I really wanted to see Connie in the role but I think I'll end up seeing Summer. I'm looking forward to the show though.

And the tutankahmun exhibition does seem good. I always go to the o2 but no such luck seeing the exhibition yet.

Thanks Judith!

Would love to see SOM but taking son to see Lion King and then Tutankhamun exhibition the next day. Pleased to hear that you enjoyed the exhibition. It will be so hard being in London and not being able to see Joseph again!

It killed me as we were staying about a 10 minute walk from the Adelphi and knowing Lee was there.

Going back to london in about 7 weeks time but seeing Jersey Boys so still no Joseph  Staying at same hotel too.

Osiris, we saw The Lion King last year and really enjoyed it. Very colourful and the human animals are just incredible.

Chantel, cant believe its only 117 days.....wow, cant wait :D

Robyn, the exhibition is definately worth a look.

Glad you enjoyed it Judith!
Must have been tough to have been so close to Lee yet so far! I'm not sure i could have been so strong in resisting a walk past the Adelphi!!!
SOM is another one on my list to see, but like Robyn i think i will be seeing Summer and not Connie!

You sound as if you had a brilliant time. How could you be so near to the Adelphi and not just pop in to check at the box office for returns, you're a stronger person than me.

Lol, it DID kill me but we arrived on the wednesday afternoon and my Mum wanted afternoon tea. I sat eating scones and sandwiches while Lee was doing his afternoon performance....and each mouthful was difficult I can tell you. The next day we did the exhibition and then shopped at Harrods so by the time we returned from there, the tickets for the evening performance would have been sold. Unfortunately my Mum was not exposed to the Joseph show and didnt know the talents of our Lee so she was not to be persuaded from a relaxing night at the hotel to a visit to the Adelphi

But im in London with my hubby in march ( not seeing Lee then either  ) but maybe HE can be persuaded to a walk past the Adelphi. If not, its wait till June...but they do say that good things come to those that wait....so who knows
