Well how do you start to describe touring Joe when you are a totally commited Lee Mead fan.
Lee is for me the best Joe I've ever seen. And still is.
The show at the Cliffs pavillion in Southend .Lee's home town of course. was a sell out.
there was a great atmosphere in the theatre and the audience all seemed to be enjoying the show.
Craig he's a lovely guy has a sweet voice and did well in the part he was also on his third show of the day!
Keith someone has been making him sing with improved diction but for me it was stilted and only once or twice was he really able to show what his voice can do.
Chris who plays Benjamin. he's going to be a good actor ,singer and dancer in a few years time. for me he gave the best performanc of the evening.
Anthony was there but hidden under a beard
Not keen on the guy who played Pharoh not to my taste
Craig gave a lovely thankyou at the end I think he's nearly as shy as Lee.
There was a really big standing ovation so Southend really enjoyed the show.
I won't compare it with the Adelphi show as that would be unfair. Not bad for a provincial theatre and if i hadn't been to the Adelphi i would have thought it was great.
Unfortunately MR. Mead has spoilt me he's the only Joe for me.

Glad you enjoyed it Tricia :)

i agree with you about Keith! I think he over exaggurates his words especially 'Joseph' he should just sing naturally and it will work better for him i think!

Interesting Tricia. I'm still undecided about booking for Mobile Jo in Bournemouth.

I quite liked Craig on ADWD, but really disliked Keith. I'm not keen on his type of voice, though I can hear that it is good. I have recently re-watched ADWD and my opinion still stands.

I suppose it is worth seeing however.

Tricia, I agree with you about Keith, but he didnt sound like that the first time I saw it, so someone has obviously been doing something with him, and what ever it was they need to put it back as it was.I also completely agree with you about Chris, I have seen him as Jo and Benjamin now, and was definately the best actor of them all.

Did you see Chris Dilley, who played Levi and the baker? He had me in fits of laughter all the way through it :-)
