I love that line as well Jessie :D
There are some great lines in the show!

I love the song betweeen Elphaba and Galinda at the beggining (cant think what it is called) where they are singing about each other and Elphaba says 'blonde'

Sorry that was a really bad explanation! My mind is like cotton wool right now!!

I love Wicked. Absolutely adore it.

The Wizard and I - such an inspiring song.
What Is This Feeling - Sums up my entire university life. I lived with a horrendous girl and I WILL be loathing her my whole life long!
Dancing Through Life - Fiyero in tight white trousers. "Lemons and melons and pears!" Hehehe love it!
I'm Not That Girl - I'm not. Lol.
Defying Gravity - Gives me chills.
As Long As You're Mine - GAH love it (Adam Garcia used to sing "Somehow I've fallen under your spell, and somehow I'm feeling it's up that I fell" in such a sexy way. Makes me die a little each time I hear it.)
No Good Deed - makes me cry.
For Good - Oh my!!!! What a touching song! I adore it so much. Floodgates!!!

Kerry Ellis is really great, Idina Menzel is also somewhat of a legend. Not so sure about Dianne Pillkington (sp?) as Galinda though, I just can't warm to her. Adam Garcia was great as Fiyero. But again, I just can't seem to warm to Oliver Tompsett. He's good, but he doesn't LOOK right.. I don't know why, I can't explain it!

Lol! I think that accounts to the succes of the show because it gets inside the head of every teenager or young woman who must endure annoying trials in life and the bratty snobby roomate is on the top of the list! Everyone assciates and feels something similar with Elphaba, the "odd girl" because of her skin. Or in real life somone feels "odd" for a different reason.

Oh yes, I totally agree. There's something for everyone to relate to in Wicked, in some way or another.

Have you seen the baby clothes they do? The little green babygro that says "Green babies rule!" I got one for my new baby nephew, Jack. It's SO SO cute!

Also have any of you got The Grimmerie book about it, it's so great and really interesting.
Like I said, I'm a huge fan.

The Grimmerie is the book of the musical, behind the scenes and the making of, stuff like that. It's really interesting to hear how the show developed from the book by Gregory Maguire (which, by the way, is also awesome, he's a great author) through to the musical. It's really good.

I love the book by Gregory Maguire, it's very different but I do love it. And I really liked Son of a Witch too - in fact I think I preferred it to the first book. I just love the world of Oz. And I also love the world of Oz that Gregory Maguire has created.

Ok I think I'm a little TOOO passionate about this topic...

Oh come on, Defying Gravity is one of the most amazing climatic songs I've ever heard. I  the music.

"And nobody in all of Oz, no Wizard that there is or was is ever gonna bring me dooooooooooown!!!"

They always play a snippet of this song on the radio when advertising the show in New York: "Tickets now on sale at the Gershwin Theatre!!"

I've got the music on my ipod. And I love it! Defying Gravity (I still want the "Defy Gravity" t-shirt! :D) is amazingly beautiful and For Good can make me cry anytime!

OK having listened to my soundtrack for oooh most of the day! I have to say i do not like Idina much at all Kerry Ellis is 10 times better as Elphaba than Idina IMO!
I also don't like Glinda on the soundtrack either! Dianne Pilkington again is 10 times better, her comic timing is better her voice is better and the 'blond' voice she puts on IMO makes the role!!
Oh and also i dont like the Fiyero he sounds too old to be a student!!!
But strangely enough i do like the soundtrack!!!! :hysterical:
Maybe i have been spoilt by the current cast!?!?!?!

I had been listening to the soundtrack for about a year when I first saw Wicked in London and I do like Kerry Ellis and Oliver Thompsett better (I do prefer Glinda on the soundtrack!) but Idina Menzel IMO is absolutely amazing too! But yes, we are soo spoiled! :D

I think Idina misses a few notes on the soundtrack!
Notably in The Wizard and I and Defying Gravity.

Having seen the current cast twice and watched them more than a few times on YouTube, the soundtrack is taking abit of getting used too!

Lol it's funny how people have different opinions about stuff isnt it?
I personally think that Idina is some kind of legend, I adore her voice and she is just the most beautiful green girl ever! I really really like Kerry Ellis but I prefer Idina.

As for Fiyero... I kinda agree that Norbert does sound far too old to be a student, he's got a very manly and deep voice - but he sounds great when singing As Long As You're Mine when they have grown up a bit and come out of school.
Again, I've already said that I can't warm to Oliver, I can't explain why, I just prefer others in the role. Adam Garcia was great. And from what I've heard about that Joey bloke who did it on Broadway (now, was he Joey from New Kids on the Block or am I making that up???) he sounded good too.

But yeh, I guess we all have different opinions! Its funny.
I'm not a huge Kristen Chenoweth fan, she's good but she's a bit... hmmm... what's the word I'm looking for? Squeaky and screechy? I don't know if that's right, but I'm not entirely sure I like her as Galinda.

Idina ís a legend. Her voice is amazing (love her in Rent too!)! And although Kerry Ellis stole my heart with The wizard and I, Defying Grafity, No good deed and As long as you're mine (with Oliver! :thud: ), Idina en Kirstin's For Good is still my favourite! :D

It is funny how everyone has such different opinions Nic!

I totally agree with you about Norbert though, but not about Oliver Thompsett!

I think if i hadnt seen or heard Kerry Ellis as Elphaba then i would love Idina, but Kerry is just IMO too awesome for words and beats Idina hands down!

You know what makes me laugh? His name is Norbert. I know, I know, I'm a terrible person for laughing, he can't help that it's his name. But it IS quite funny... And DOES remind me of Norbert the Norweigan Ridgeback dragon in Harry Potter...

He's got a stunning deep voice though, I'd like to hear him in a more mature role.
