I saw a matinee on Broadway last year with a friend of mine. (Will check my playbill for the cast credits later) We paid up but got good seats in the front. I was worried that we wouldn't see the stage properly because we were seated on the far right. But in fact, the view was amazing. I love the songs, the choreography, the characters, and the music. The book Wicked was so dark and cynical that I didn't enjoy it at all. But I found the show to be brighter with themes of friendship and redemption.

Wicked is one of the best contemporary musicals I've seen in a long time. I'm sure the role of Elphaba will go down in MT history as one of greatest roles to play on the stage.

I haven't actually seen Wicked, but I do love some of the songs!
And Kerry Ellis is just phenomenal, whether in Wicked, Les Mis or Miss Saigon! She's just fab :D

Well, musicals really depend on a person's taste, Jessie. I saw the film of Chicago and thought it was pretty good but not one of my all time favorites. My mother doesn't fancy colorful Joseph or dark and sinister Phantom. (I think she's upset that Christine didn't choose the Phantom in the end.) Everyone's got a preference to their taste. Though your outside performance sounds really cool!

I guess I liked it because ever since the old musical Wizard of Oz, you look at the Witch as this icon of evil like Darth Vader, the Joker, Disney villians....etc. Then comes this musical and puts a little spin on her story with some dry wit and irony. Love that line, "Well we can't all come and go by bubble!!"

Have seen it twice and I love it.... but I think thats partly because Kerry is just so awesome in the role of Elphaba :) Its not a show with loads of stand out, memorable songs, but there are some brilliant ones, and the story is great.

Never seen Kerry Ellis perform but I'm sure she's good as people say she is. Meantime, I'm looking for "Wicked" jewelry online.

I love Wicked! Have seen it twice now and I love, love, love it. Kerry Ellis is fab, Oliver Thomspett is :thud: And I just love the songs, the story and the dialogues (They're just shoes! Get over it! ^^).

Wicked jewelry sounds amazing! If you find something, can you send me the link Rose? :D

I saw it this afternoon, queued up this morning at 6am to get Row A stalls for the mat, then a quick dash across town to a certain theatre to see a certain show with a certain curly haired beauty. 2nd time for Wicked and loved it - ?? time for Joseph and love that too.

Stalls Row A 23 and 24, dead centre, absolutely brill, although Kerry Eliis and Oliver Thompsett (?) didn't perform, her understudy was brilliant, his was total and utter rubbish, couldn't sing for love nor money, when we went we saw the understudy for Glinda who I thought was brilliant, but yesterday it was the actual person (sorry, I don't even know her name) and she was OK, not as good as her understudy though, but it still didn't take away from the show which I loved, but not as much as Joe.

Wow, those are amazing! :D Too bad about Kerry Ellis and Oliver Thompsett tho! They're just brill! The original Glinda is pretty good (saw her the first time), but I did like her understudy better! And you're right, it's the show that's so amazing too! Glad to hear you had a great time! :D

This show is great Anne kindly got he tix and took me yesterday,The seats were so good dead centre front row. The story is very cleverly done and I would go again. Enjoyed the whole thing. my only real cririsism is the length of the first half One hour thirty minutes .
And then of course we saw Joe in the evening
Thanks Anne its great and if Joe wasn't on would probably get hooked on this.

Ashleigh Gray is Elphaba understudy and Rach and I saw her last week she was amazing! :D
I wasnt sure if it was Kerry or not to start with!

Shame about the Fiyero understudy tho!
We saw the Boc understudy and i didnt think he was as good, but that maybe because the real Boc has the most amazing Scottish accent!!!

Glinda is played by Diane Pilkington who i think is amazing!
She reminds me a bit of me! Only in the blondness obviously! I am not that modest or shallow!!!

The 'Toss Toss' part is hilarious!
I love that whole 'Popular' scene!!
Diane has fab comic timing and a nice voice as well. Almost a shame she doesnt get more chance to show off her voice!
